Description

Paget’s disease of the bone is a chronic condition that affects bone remodelling in focal areas of the skeleton. The disease may affect one or several sites and can cause a variety of subsequent complications such as pain, bony deformity, osteoarthritis, fracture or nerve compression. Understanding the disease and how it affects patients enables nurses to identify patient needs and improve the quality of care delivered.
